Bulk Tanks for Propane in Elkins, WV and Surrounding Areas
Cuptane LP Gas Offers Bulk Tank Propane for Homes and Businesses
Our Bulk Tanks:
We put our tanks out on a one-time lease. You can use the tank if you meet the minimum use requirement. The one-time lease fee is $250; however, we do not charge the fee amount and the first $100 of installation at time of setup, and it is completely waived after three years of use. If you use the tank for less than 3 years, you will owe $250 and the unpaid portion of installation. Bottom line, the tank lease costs nothing if used for three years.
Minimum Use Requirement
You must buy 500 gallons per year for a 500-gallon tank, 1,000 gallons per year for a 1,000-gallon tank, and 250 gallons per year for a 250-gallon tank. If you use less than the required amount, we will trade it for a smaller tank or 100-pound cylinders if less than 250 gallons per year.
With our leased bulk tanks, you may only add gas purchased from us to them. If we discover you add gas from another company in our tank, we have the right to pick up our tank and you forfeit all gas in the tank.
Customer-Owned Tanks
We gladly fill customer-owned tanks! First, you must sign an own tank agreement. There is no charge for this; we just need a signed document stating you own the tank. In the event another company claims it, we could get into liability issues. Also, if you have a bill of sale, we will make a copy to keep in your file.
Upon entering into an own tank agreement, we will do a free inspection before we add gas to the tank.
Advice for Buying Bulk Tanks from Individuals
1. Make sure they own it:
– Ask for a bill of sale.
2. Make sure the tank you buy is a good tank:
– Bulk tanks have data plates, usually under the lid. See how old it is. The data plate will say, “year built.” Most tanks are good at 20 years of age. If the tank has not been kept up off the ground on blocks or painted, and is over 20 years old, you may be dealing on a bad tank.
– Bad tank signs include pitted steel; many times, you may find pitting under the aluminum data plate.
– If the tank is more than 20 years old, it may need new valves and packing kits. This is expensive. We rebuild tanks; contact our office for details.
3. Transporting tanks:
– We move tanks locally. We have equipment and insurance. If you need to move a tank, call us: (304) 636-7006.
